About Rachel Woodward, OTD, OTR/L, ATP
Rachel has been an occupational therapy provider at CHI Rehabilitation Institute since 2011 after completion of her Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) from Creighton University in 2010. Rachel completed her undergraduate degree from Midland Lutheran College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in biology with minors in chemistry and art.
Rachel serves as the Wheelchair Seating and Positioning Specialist for both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation services. Rachel provides outpatient occupational therapy services to adults who have sustained a neurological injury (such as stroke, brain injury / post-concussive syndrome, or spinal cord injury). She additionally has a focus on providing occupational therapy services which maximize independence and participation in activities of daily living to patients who have experienced vision related deficits after a neurological injury.
Rachel is involved in the management and facilitation of the CHI Rehabilitation Institute spinal cord injury support group, and a participating clinician in the annual spinal cord injury re-evaluation program. Rachel enjoys sharing her passion for her profession by participating in the annual Health Care Career Exploration Camp geared towards high school students interested in the field of healthcare. Rachel enjoys kayaking, camping, cooking, and spending time with her husband and son.
