About Peter Widhalm, PTA

Peter graduated from Washburn University in Topeka KS with an Associates in Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant in 1998.  He worked for five years in an Outpatient Physical Therapy Office on the South Shore of Long Island NY specializing in Orthopedic Diagnoses.  He then moved to the East End of Long Island and worked at Stony Brook University Medical Center a large teaching Hospital and Level I Trauma center serving the 3 million residents of Suffolk County.  While there for eight and a half years he gained extensive experience in treating Cardiac Oncologic Orthopedic Trauma Burn and General Medicine patients at all levels of acuity.  In 2013 Peter moved to Omaha to assist with the care of his aging parents.  As part of that transition he became part of the  Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute team.  He spent four years specializing in functional recovery of patients in the inpatient unit with a special focus on Aquatic therapy for balance proprioception and body awareness for Stroke patients. For the past year Peter has spent the majority of his time providing Therapy for patients in Immanuel Acute Hospital.  He now brings his expertise to our Outpatient Aquatics team.  Peter enjoys biking kayaking swimming and tennis with his wife and small dog.
