About Michael Herrington, PT
Michael Herrington has worked at Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute for over 20 years. After graduating from PT school he specifically sought a career at Immanuel due to the excellent facility and focus on Neurologic Rehabilitation. He had an immediate impact and was the first therapist trained in NDT for adult hemiplegia. He continues to enjoy working with patients following stroke and traumatic brain injury as an outpatient therapist. He has received specialized training in vestibular rehabilitation and also helps those with balance impairments dizziness and concussion. Aside from his role as a staff therapist at the Institute he also works with PT students in clinical training and is an outpatient mentor for Creighton University?s Neurologic Residency program. Further he is a guest lab instructor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center?s PT program. He enjoys the opportunity to lecture to community and professional audiences about various topics related to neurologic rehabilitation.
Michael grew up in central Iowa attended Iowa State University and received his Master?s of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Iowa. He resides in Omaha with his wife and four kids but will always be a Cyclone fan. They homeschool all their children from grade school through high school. He is active in his church Omaha Bible Church and leads chapel services at various retirement homes and care centers in the area on the weekend. In his spare time he stays active running biking and playing tennis and disc golf.
