About Kyla Leighton, PT, DPT

Education/Background: University of Nebraska Medical Center, Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Areas of Interest: general orthopedics, dry needling, pelvic health

Philosophy of Care: As a physical therapist, my philosophy of care is focused on empowering each individual to take control of their health in order to reduce pain and restore function to participate fully in the activities they love. I work together with each patient to set goals focused on their individual needs. My goal is to provide each patient with the knowledge and tools to be able to understand their bodies, manage their condition, and prevent future issues from arising.

Why I became a Physical Therapist: Growing up, I enjoyed my science classes and was interested in working in the healthcare field. I was introduced to physical therapy by attending sessions for my own injuries and began considering it as a possibility for a future career. Throughout my own experiences as a patient and during observation as a student, I was able to confirm my decision to become a physical therapist to combine my passions for science and serving others.
